How We Evaluate Funding Partners and Options

Last reviewed: October 2026

What this site does

Can I Get Business Funding matches business owners to funding options based on their quiz answers. AJV Ventures LLC is not a lender. We do not make loans, approve applications, or set rates or terms.

Evaluation categories

We evaluate partners and options in five categories. Each one carries a weight that reflects how much it matters to a business owner comparing options.

Cost

35%
Cost measures what an option is likely to cost a business, including the rates, fees, and factor rates a partner publishes. We favor options where the total cost is easy to see and compare. Where a partner does not publish its costs, we say so instead of guessing.

Eligibility clarity

20%
Eligibility clarity measures how plainly a partner states who can qualify, such as minimum credit score, monthly revenue, and time in business. Clear requirements help you avoid applying for something you are unlikely to get. When a requirement is not published, we show that rather than fill in a number.

Funding speed

15%
Funding speed measures how quickly a business can move from application to money in its account, based on what the partner states and what we see in application walk-throughs. We treat approval and funding as two separate steps.

Transparency

15%
Transparency measures how openly a partner explains its terms, fees, and what happens after you apply. That includes whether the partner tells you up front if it will check your credit and what it will do with your information.

Borrower fit

15%
Borrower fit measures how well an option suits the kind of business it is built for, such as a startup or an established company. It keeps matches tied to your answers instead of a one-size-fits-all list.

How we collect data

We collect information from the pages lenders and partners publish themselves and from application walk-throughs. Facts are checked against those sources and dated. When a partner does not publish a fact, we write "Not published by the lender" instead of estimating.

How often we re-check

We re-check partner information at least quarterly, and whenever a partner changes its terms.

Independence

Partner relationships do not change scores or rankings. Matches are based on your answers and each partner's published criteria.
